My Aimee calls me from far away
And asks me to sing her a song
I listen to how her day went
And tell her that nothing is wrong
And then I sing something sweet and soft
And tell her I miss her so much
And, still on the phone, she falls asleep
It's almost as if we touch
Sleeping with Aimee
Hearing each breath she breathes
Feeling the love that she leaves me
Sleeping with Aimee
Telephone on my ear
Knowing she holds me so dear, I'm
Sleeping with Aimee
Later on, I fall asleep
And dream of the love we share
How someday she'll live with me
And leave with me all of her cares
She wakes me, saying, "Are you still here?"
And, "Baby, I love you so."
I hang up the phone, go back to sleep
And now, it's here -- I know I'm
Sleeping with Aimee
Feeling each breath I breathe
Knowing I'll never leave her
Sleeping with Aimee
Telephone by my bed
And all of the things I have said are
Sleeping with Aimee
Sleeping with Aimee
Sleeping with Aimee...
